General Information about Mitterfirmiansreut
Mitterfirmiansreut is a district of the state-approved
recreation- and winter sports town of Philippsreut. It is
located in the border
triangle Germany - Czech Republic - Austria between
the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest, which is situated
at the border to the Czech Republic. The closest railway
station is in Passau (approx. 55km away).
The community offers a variety of possibilities to enjoy
an exciting and relaxing family vacation throughout the
whole year – and all of this without being afraid
of terrorism and far away from possible targets for terrorist
attacks.
Hiking/Nordic Walking
Hiking in the Bavarian Forest border triangle is interesting
and exciting all year long.
There are at least 65 km of well-marked hiking trails on
community territory crossing the Bavarian Forest e.g. to
the Almberg (1139 m), to the Teufelsbach (Devil’s
Creek), to the Hammerklause and to the Wasserscheide (water
shed).
In our region a wide network of theme hiking trails called
"From chapel to chapel" and guided walking tours
is available. Of course, the hiking trails can be used for
Nordic Walking as well. At Haus Waldeck, Nordic-Walking
courses are offered by Sport Woelfl.
The hiking trails situated right in front of Haus Waldeck
give you the opportunity to enjoy an active, but also recreative
vacation, especially during the warmer seasons.
Winter Sports
Mitterfirmiansreut is known as a winter sports paradise (especially
for skiing), because it is located in a snow-secure region.
The region offers:

- Ski school (Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Carving
and Snowboarding lessons for kids and adults)

Here you can go uphill with the "Kirchen"-lift
in Mitterfirmiansreut and then ride downhill on one of
three well-prepared slopes with different degrees of difficulty.

- Further possibilities are offered within the community.
Haus
Waldeck provides its guests with a work out area,
a small indoor swimming pool and the possibility to play
table tennis, billiards, darts and tabletop soccer. Our
little guests can choose between a play room and the playground
located right in front of the patio.
